LNM’s Mike Phillips recently travelled to the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) conference in Austin, Texas. At this conference, Mike continued his work with one of the founders of TPACK, Professor Matthew Koehler from Michigan State University, together with Josh Rosenberg and Ben Zunica, PhD students from Michigan State and Monash respectively.

Their paper questioned the homogeneity of knowledge represented in TPACK research and presented new ways in which knowledge may be considered heterogeneously. This paper also questioned whether TPACK, or indeed PCK which preceded it, can be measured using one scale.

In addition to this paper, Mike also organised a TPACK symposium with Dr Aaron Kessler from Concordia University in Chicago which brought together 10 of the most influential TPACK researchers from the last decade to share developments in their particular area of TPACK research.

Mike was also asked to share his work in another symposium which featured empirical investigations undertaken to argue for and demonstrate practical applications of enhancing pre-service and in-service teachers’ knowledge of technology integration.
