DER associate member Luci Pangrazio was the opening keynote speaker in the recent ‘PopUpDigital18’ conference in Gothenburg. The conference attracted 350 Swedish teachers, policymakers and municipality leaders, with a focus on the newly announced ‘Digital Kompetens’ area of the Swedish national curriculum. Luci’s keynote overviewed her recent work in the area of developing young people’s digital literacies in area such as personal data, fake news and online identity. The closing keynote speech of the conference featured DER’s Neil Selwyn, who has been working as a guest professor at Gothenburg. Neil’s talk focused on the challenges of curriculum change and implementation of digital education policy.
